How did you feel about yourself prior to joining? What made you decide to join Bushido Fitness?

I’ve always been a slim person & never had to really watch what I ate but I gave up smoking after a 20+ year habit and as I got older I noticed my weight was starting to creep up so I really need to do something about it.

Prior to joining Bushido I’d tried every exercise class around , joined a gym, did boxercise, circuits, kettlebells, Zumba, Bokwa, you name it I’d tried it.

Although I enjoyed the exercise I was still eating junk & drinking far too much. Two of my closest friends had joined Bushido & were loving it, it’s all they talked about when we were altogether & I was really jealous that they were loving it & getting good results.

I knew (or at least I thought) there was no way I could do the first month with no alcohol.

Then one Sunday morning it all changed!

I’d woke up with yet another hangover from the night before & just thought I couldn’t go on live like that anymore so I emailed Bushido Fitness & got a reply back straight away giving me information about the program & I was offered a place on their next camp which started 8 days later so I accepted the place & I can honestly say it really is the best thing I’ve ever done as it’s changed my life!

30 months later I’m still a member on their program & I never miss a session because they make me feel fantastic 🙂

Had you tried losing weight in the past? What was your experience and how did Bushido Fitness differ?

In the past I’d only tried to lose weight with Slimming World which was successful but wasn’t enough of a ‘lifestyle’ change. Bushido for me is a way of life & there’s so much support from the Bushido fitness team & the other members.

What were your fears and concerns prior to joining Bushido Fitness?

My fears were that as I said before was the giving up alcohol for a month, that the exercises would be too difficult & I was scared of joining a bunch of people I didn’t know & that I’d look stupid.

What helped you overcome those fears and concerns?

I was dreading my first session but I can honestly say that as soon as I walked in I was made to feel at ease, everyone was so friendly & the trainers were lovely, there so much support & everybody gets on so well. No matter what your age, weight or fitness level everyone is treated the same.

What obstacles did you face along the way to losing weight?
What helped overcome them?

Straight away I was determined to lose the weight & just get on with it, in my first month I lost 8lbs & 13.5 inches which made me feel fantastic & made me more determined!

How do you feel about yourself now?

I love how I feel now!

It was the best decision I ever made, I’m 45 years old next month & I’ve never felt fitter! & happier about my body.

I’m proud of the fact that I’m a member of Bushido Fitness & know that my family are proud of what I’ve achieved too. It’s fantastic when my 13 year old son tells me he’s proud of me 🙂 & My husband tells me how fit I look & I thank my Bushido ‘family’ for that 🙂

There are many options for someone looking to lose weight. What do you think separates Bushido Fitness from other fitness/weight loss groups?

Bushido is like a family! The support you get is unbelievable!

How have your new fitness and nutrition habits affected your life?

I’m so much more confident & have never been happier, I love the fact I can wear anything I want & not feel uncomfortable & I also love that I can beat my son in an arm wrestle haha!

If you could go back in time and speak to your old self before Bushido Fitness, what advice would you give?

Don’t be scared of change & if you really want something go for it!

I did & I’m a much happier & most importantly, a healthier person 🙂
